The island seasons are subtle with changes in sunlight and precipitation. The weather varies from the beach to the mountains. Still tropical plants flourish all year long. When I see green, I think divine order.

Lau Mai’a (Banana leaves). One of many “canoe” plants brought by the Polynesians who settled the islands, bananas require patience because they grow and ripen slowly.

Laau Ulu (Breadfruit leaves). Breadfruit trees need little attention and produce and abundance of energy-rich fruit!
